Plant profile Iris Innominata

 Pacific Coast Iris

Innominata

One of the natural species iris, or at least supposed to be. Iris innominata is a very variable species, usually yellow with varying amounts of red veining, but other colours are known. In the wild they grow in the same area as other species so some natural hybridisation may take place. You need to be much more knowledgeable than I am to be sure.

Individual flowers are of the narrow 'species' type, but the plant is a vigorous grower and flowers well, so making a good show.
